Ownership P1(a)

Ownership

The ownership itself is an ultimate and exclusive right conferred by a lawful claim or title, and subject to certain restrictions to enjoy, occupy, possess, rent, sell, use, give away, or even destroy an item of property.

I have included a mind map that shows an overall picture in terms of ownership in TV industry.

Private ownership means that the company is run by itself not by members of the public or other companies’

Multinational national ownership means that the company has either investments or operations in two or more countries

Media Ownership is a process whereby progressively fewer individuals or organisations control increasing shares of the mass media. Contemporary research demonstrates increasing levels of consolidation, with many media industries already highly concentrated and dominated by a very small number of firms.

Dreamworks is an American film production company which produces and develops films, television programming, and video games. It has produced a number of very successful movies such as Shrek 2. It is currently owned by DW II Managment & Reliance Entertainment which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.

The company Paramount Pictures is owned by Viacom which is an American global mass media company which has a parent company National Amusements, Inc. that is an American privately owned theater company based in Dedham, Massachusetts, United States.

Here is a Viacom Headquarters at One Astor Plaza
