Competitors P1(e)

Competitors

Competition according to economics is a rivalry in which every seller tries to get what other sellers are seeking at the same time: sales, profit, and market share by offering the best practicable combination of price, quality, and service.

In general products of Paramount pictures compete on a broad level with all forms of entertainment and other leisure activities. The main competition however comes from wide-release “event” films especially animated movies distributed by other media companies. The company also faces competition from animation studios for the services of talented writers, directors, producers, animators and other employees.

Its main competitors are media companies that target same target audience and have
comparable animated filmmaking capabilities such as Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and The Walt Disney Studios.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. is an American producer of film, television, and music entertainment. It is generally involved in the same media area as Paramount Pictures. This fact makes this company Paramount Picture competitor. The revenue of this company was around 10 times higher than that of Paramount Pictures in 2013. In 2013, the WB Studio enjoyed record-breaking success across all businesses, including the most successful theatrical year in company history. This indicates the fact that Paramount pictures has less market share. This is due to the fact that WB is involved in making much more media products and these are more popular despite Paramount Pictures was founded 11 years earlier. The popularity of WB was made by such movies as Harry Potter that is extremely popular within children and teenagers.

The Walt Disney Studios.

This is an American media company which is a department of The Walt Disney Company. It is involved in producing movies and animated movies. It was founded in 1923, later than Paramount Pictures. It is considered as the most powerful competitor of Paramount Pictures as it now has the biggest market share at that area.
